Home Computing

So you have taken advantage of the special free laptop deals and got yourself a home computer – what next? The problem is that you cannot be a specialist in everything and unless you are a whizz at computers chances are you will need to pay someone to come in and set it up for you as it might not be as easy as you think.

Firstly there is the actual computer to set up and depending on how it is configured you may have to set it up from scratch, loading the operating system and getting it just right.

If you have more than one computer at home or just want to use it without being plugged into the internet all the time then you may want to set up a wireless network which will need a bit of knowhow.

Then there are the other devices that will usually come hand in hand with a computer – some like the mouse and the keyboard are easy to set up as they are just plug and play but others such as the printer and scanner might take a little more expertise as you will also have to download the drivers and related software.

There are smaller companies who will do this at a reasonable rate as they specialise in getting home computers up and running.
