LED vs LCD televisions and computer monitors

The two main types of computer monitors and television are LED and LCD. LCD stands for liquid crystal display and LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes. The main difference between these two types technology is the back-light. LCD backlight uses cold cathode fluorescent lamps while LED backlight emits diodes. The LCD technology is dependable on outside light to create the image and to display the colors through the manipulation of the light that is traversed by polarized liquid crystals.

If we look at LED vs LCD televisions, we see that the LCD televisions uses two layers of glass that when polarized stick together. One of the layers of glass hold the liquid crystals together and pass light to produce the images on the television screen as electric current passes through it. This is why LCE television is known to product high quality images. The advantage of purchasing an LCD television is that it is normally very thin and takes up little space since that they can be hung almost anywhere. This is what is so attractive and appealing to consumers.

The LED televisions are very similar to LCD televisions. They are also flat-screen and the also utilized the LCD technology but they differ in the source of their back light which is fluorescent lamps.

LED monitors and televisions offer a better resolution and more intense lighting. They also have sharper contrast thus making the quality more enjoyable. Some of the other differences of LCD and LED monitors and televisions are as follows. The LED technology uses less power consumption. The LCD technology offer a better angle of vies. LCD monitors and televisions can be viewed better directly. Side views can be distorted. Finally, one of the main differences between LED and LCD is price. LED computer monitors and televisions are more expensive than LCD computer monitors and televisions.

In conclusion, LED televisions and monitors provide better images, color and resolution however LCD televisions and monitors are less expensive. In the end personal preferences will determine if one choses a LED monitor or television or a LCD monitor or television. For some quality will be the deciding factor while for other price will be the deciding factor.
