The problem with technology is that half of the time us lesser mortals do not have a sufficient grasp on it to be able to use it to our maximum benefit.
There must be lots of little gems out there such as a virtual phone number or some new computer programme that would transform our lives if only we knew about it in the first place.
Many of these things seems consigned to the realms of the experts or the geeks and yet it is the ordinary person that some of the technology would benefit the most. How can we find out about these things if we do not even know about them in the first place?
As an everyday example, sit down with your colleague or friend for half an hour and watch them using a common programme such as Word or Excel. I can bet anything that within a short time one of you will come up with a trick or shortcut that the other did not know about and yet which makes your job easier.
Technology now is so complex in many respects that we are faced with this increasing problem of how to even understand what exists and then trying to learn the important bits and this issue is only going to get worse as new technology is developed.
