Design doesn't necessarily have to be a technologically heavy process, but having the auxiliary technology certainly does help. In case of interior design, having the technology to show the client exactly how their space will look with the help of an animated walk through can be a boon!
Technology doesn't enter the picture only when it's time to showcase the design. Indeed technology is a big part of the process of design, but it is merely a tool, and it is not an intrinsic part of the design process itself. That usually comes from the meeting of two minds, the designer's and the client's!
Everything from the vase in the corner to the canvas print adorning the walls can be factored into a 3D walkthrough or virtual tour of a space. This helps the client envision the spaces and also helps the designer convey what exactly they are proposing.
Having an actual prototype of an ideal to look at can also help the designer actually see what something looks like first, without spending resources on creating it. If the designer is not satisfied, making any reiterations or changes is just a matter of time and ideas.
Technology has come a long long way from our humble past. Who would have thought that one day, we will be able to create virtual spaces and tour through corridors with lifelike textures and colours, all with the help of the combinations of two numbers, 1 and 0? Well that's the digital revolution for you!
